This part was made by welding the central 3D printed part in a bigger structure was made with conventional plate steel. The combination of both techniques allows the advantages of 3D printed parts to be included in parts that are not suited to be 3D printed.  In this case the laser window needed to be cooled with channels but printing the overall cover was not economically feasible.
